2017 Vina Sastre Roble

Ribera del Duero, SP

Regular Price $23.99

Sale price $18.99

100% Tempranillo from north central Spain, this wine is made of organic grapes from among the oldest vineyards in Ribera del Duero. Aged used oak barrels for 8 months, the wine still maintains characteristic freshness and balance.

2017 San Fereolo Valdiba

Dogliani, IT

Regular Price $29.99

Sale price $23.99

This is the younger vine, everyday Dolcetto from the fabulous producer San Fereolo from the Piedmont region of Dogliani. It’s made to be, quite simply, enjoyed. Sporting dark cherry flavors, earthy and floral aromas and smooth tannins, it’s not that the wine isn’t serious, but rather, it tastes so good that there is no reason not to drink it now.

2011 San Fereolo Austri

Langhe, IT

Regular Price $43.99

Sale price $34.99

Ok, this is seriously geeky wine. 95% Barbera and 5% Nebbiolo, 3 years in old barrels and another 3-4 years in bottle, this wine is released when Nicoletta Bocca, the owner of San Fereolo, decides that it is ‘ready’. No explanation, no apologies. No critics are invited to taste barrel samples, no focus groups are convened. Most of the ‘experts’ have never heard of this wine, and don’t quite know what to make of it, as it boasts no scores, stars or glasses. It’s made by a producer that deeply cares about the vineyard, the grapes and the quality of the wine that is derived thereof. Nothing else matters.

2015 Chateau Citran

Haut-Medoc, FR

Regular Price $29.99

Sale price $23.99

This a bit of a modern take on classic Haut-Medoc. Comprised of nearly  equal parts Cab and Merlot, its ripe and full with notable (but not overwhelming) oak flavors layered atop the berry, cassis and plum favors provided by the grape. The tannins are present but well integrated.

2015 Domaine des Roches Neuves Franc de Pied

Saumur-Champigny, FR

Regular Price $59.99

Sale price $34.99

This Cabernet Franc, from sandy and limestone soils, offers a smooth and silky texture with bright fruit flavors touched with black olive and mineral elements. Its not overwhelming but balanced, richly flavored yet moderate in its intensity and alcohol level.. Finishing with supple tannic grip and cleansing acidity. its really the template for high quality wine.

2016 Domaine le Sang des Cailloux Cuvée Floureto

Vacqueyras, FR

Regular Price $42.99

Sale price $33.99

The name of this Vacqueyras rouge changes each year, named after the daughters’ of owner Serge Férigoule: Floureto, Doucinello, and Azalaïs. The vineyards rest on the great Plateau des Garrigues, where red clay, limestone, and the famous galets roulés, or rounded stones, impart a terrific intensity and depth to the wine. Made of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre & Cinsault, the wine is rich and chewy, with flavors and aromas of leather, spicy garrigue, and smoky, black fruit.
