2017 Kuentz-Bas Blanc

Alsace, FR

Regular Price $16.99

Sale price $12.99

Kuentz-Bas is a centuries old winery that has been rejuvenated since being purchased by Jean-Baptiste Adam in 2004. Already blessed with great vineyard sites, Adam worked at lowering yields and introducing organic practices and the wines are much better for his efforts. This blend or traditional Alsatian varietals (sylvaner, muscat, auxerrois and gewurztraminer) is aromatic and floral with good density and persistent acidity, Irs refreshing and delicious.

2017 Domaine Pelle Menetou-Salon

Morogues, FR

Regular Price $27.99

Sale price $21.99

The 800 lb gorilla of the eastern Loire Valley is certainly Sancerre, but to call the appellations surrounding it ‘little-known’ (as many wine ‘experts’ do) speaks to a lack of curiosity, at least. Pouilly-Fume, Quincy, Reuilly, and Coteaux de Giennois are well respected by any wine retailer worth his salt, while Menetou-Salon and Paul-Henri Pelle are exalted by most of the world wine. Made entirely of Sauvignon Blanc from the same type of Kimmeridgian soil found in Chablis, Champagne and Sancerre, this wine is brisk and enlivening as well as rich and bold.

2018 Grand Veneur Cotes du Rhone Reserve Blanc

Orange, FR

Regular Price $22.99

Sale price $17.99

Southern Rhone whites are overshadowed by reds largely because so few are made (less than 10% of the production are whites), and lazy wine commentators can’t be bothered to actually look for interesting wines. This is a blend of Viognier, Roussanne and Clairette which gives it floral, honeyed and peachy flavors and aromas. Its full and rich and dry and not lacking persistent and enlivening acidity

2018 Marc Plouzeau ‘Rive Gauche’ Chinon Rosé

Loire Valley, FR

Regular Price $18.99

Sale price $14.99

Made from 100% Cabernet Franc, this is a bright, rich and crisp Rosé that is every bit as fresh and brisk as your favorite Provence Rosé and more interesting to boot. Lithe enough to pair with a salad, full enough for BBQ.

2018 Soellner ‘Dani’ Rosé

Wagram, AT

Regular Price $18.99

Sale price $14.99

This is a delightful blend of Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from Wagram, Austria (northwest of Vienna). Ripe and juicy with expressive tart cherry and floral aromas followed by herbal and cherry flavors. Rich yet crisp, its an entirely different example of Rosé

2013 Vinica Lame del Sorbo

Molise, IT

Regular Price $21.99

Sale price $16.99

The grape here is Tintilia (which no one has ever heard of) and its grown in Molise (which might be Italy’s least productive wine region. And no one has ever heard of it, either.) All that notwithstanding, this is a great wine for summer dining al fresco. Nice fruit, pleasant earthiness, crisp acidity. It has it all.
