Less than 20% of the vineyards of Sancerre are dedicated to red grapes, Pinot Noir representing the sole allowable red cultivar in the appellation. Crochet’s Rosé manages to express the minerality of the zone while adding a welcome tinge of cherry fruit.

Bachey Legros is known for its old vines with the Champs Claude planted in 1947 and 1954. The vineyard itself is located in the northern part of Santenay on the border with Chassagne-Montrachet.

The vines here are 50 – 80 years of age and harvest takes place by hand in the beginning of October. The resulting wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks prior to 15 months aging in large oak casks.
