Gobelsburg Gruner Veltliner, Kamptal 2017

Regular price: $22.99

Sale Price: $17.99

Schloss Gobelsburg, a Cistercian monastic estate, is one of the oldest wineries in the Danube area with a documented history that dates back to 1171. This is a classic Gruner; green plum, white pepper and freshly cut grass aromas lead into subtle stone fruit and green vegetable flavors. The wine finishes with bright and invigorating acidity.

Leeuwin Estate ‘Art Series’ Riesling, Margaret River 2015

Regular Price $22.99

Sale price $15.99

One of my all time favs, it’s dry (of course, like most rieslings), bright and rich with abundant honeycrisp apple flavors and a lemon-lime finish. Lip-smackingly delicious.

Meyer-Fonne Pinot Gris Reserve, Alsace 2016

Regular Price $22.99

Sale price $11.99

Oh my. Aromatic, if not quite jumping from the glass, this is a wine of exuberance rather than subtlety. Juicy stone fruit and marzipan flavors lead into a dry and zesty finish. Rich and full, this is a wine that red wine drinkers would love it they would just give it a chance.

Domaine Philippe Gilbert Menetou-Salon Rosé 2017

Regular Price $31.99

Sale price $24.99

100% Pinot Noir, of course, this is a beautiful wine with bright fresh berry flavors atop subtle yet persistent mineral notes. Light-bodied, it is nonetheless remarkably long with gentle tannins that are only reluctantly subsumed.

Charles Joguet ‘Clos de Chene Vert’ Chinon 2013

Regular price: $50.99

Sale Price: $19.99

This is a ‘big’ Chinon, from one of the best sites in the appellation. 100% Cabernet Franc from 30+ year old vines, the wine spends 18 months in barrel. Rich and full, yet vibrant and complex, this wine represents value at its typical price tag and a steal at this one.

Leeuwin Estate ‘Art Series’ Cabernet Sauvignon,

Margaret River 2012

Regular price: $59.99

Sale Price: $44.99

Holey moley. This wine is all that and a bag of chips. Its shows the  ripe fruit grown under the hot Australian sun as well as the restraint from the cool Margaret River. 21 months in oak smooths the rough edges and adds weight and well integrated tannins. Complex and delicious, it is also sensibly sealed under screw cap, to give a modern edge to this very classically styled wine.
