2022 Santa Barbara Le Vaglie

The Antonucci family farms over 100 acres of prime vineyards in the Jesi area. The vines here are 25 – 40 years of age and bear deliciously nutty Verdicchio grapes. The wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks.

Sourced from volcanic soils, this deep, complex white was fermented in stainless steel prior to 10 months aging in tank and 8 months aging in bottle. The resulting wine is subtly aromatic and features a lovely texture.

Vivace is produced in a frizzante style with some bubbles present. Freisa is the parent varietal for Nebbiolo and, interestingly, may be related to Viognier. This is a frothy, energetic style of Freisa perfect to match with charcuterie.

Situated in the subzone of Panzano, Castello dei Rampolla produces a very fine, polished rendition of Chianti Classico. The wine is aged for 8 months in concrete prior to 12 months in small oak barrels and finally 6 months in bottle before release.
