2019 Famille Lafage ‘Narassa’ Red Blend, Côtes Catalanes

Roussillon, France

Regular Price: $24.99

Sale Price: $19.99

Fact: There are more and better wines available today than at any time in history.

Fact: Many of those wines are eminently affordable, in the $20-$25 range

Fact: This is one of those wines

This is really a simple case of style meeting price. By and large, the wine consuming public likes big, bold, smooth and juicy reds…frankly, that’s the description of many of the very popular (and expensive) Cabernets from California. This wine isn’t exactly that (it’s not Cabernet), but the combination of late picked, old vine Grenache and Syrah delivers up a delicious wine that meets the expectations and preferences of those same consumers, at an everyday drinking price.

As the weather cools, the desire for hearty and dense reds will continue unabated. This uncomplicated but fully flavored wine is precisely what the ‘doctor’ has ordered for the cold days ahead. Winter is coming!
