This is that wine.
Made of 50% Rossese and 50% Crovino (yes, I know, you’ve never heard of these grapes), this wine is a gently sparkling (frizzante!) rosé from the coastline of the Ligurian Sea, west of Genoa. The family (Ruffino, no relation) has been tending these vines for over 500 years, hardly changing a thing from generation to generation. This is not the only wine that they make, but it might be the most enjoyable and certainly, the most eye-catching, boasting a gorgeous dark pink hue.
Gently fruity, with bright crisp acidity, the wine shimmers in the glass, encouraging you to take another sip. Perfect at brunch, lunch or as an aperitif, it makes everything around it better and more joyful.
