CVNE Monopole Clasico, Rioja 2014

Regular price: $29.99

Sale Price: $23.99

It’s a complex wine, starting with aromas of pear, apple, white currant and white flowers but also dried fruits and spice. The uniqueness of this wine lies in the contribution of a small quantity of manzanilla sherry, developed by the traditional method of biological crianza under “velo de flor”. The wines’ ageing contributes to its peculiar characteristics, adding aromas of chamomile, dried fruits, and a long and persistent finish. The marked acidity increases Monopole Clásico’s freshness.

Gregory Perez ‘Mengoba’, Bierzo 2014

Regular price: $28.99

Sale Price: $22.99

Gregory Perez is one of the most talented winegrowers working in Bierzo today. A native of Bordeaux, Gregory came to Bierzo in the early 2000’s and worked extensively in the region before starting his own project in 2007 called Bodegas Mengoba, where he farms 5 hectares. His goal is to express the Bierzo terroir as vividly as possible by working only with native grapes and utilizing natural winemaking methods, such as fermenting all wines with wild yeasts and working with very little sulfur during the winemaking process. The fruit for Mengoba Tinto comes from a combination of 80-year-old Mencía and Garnacha Tintorera vines. It’s an electric vino tinto with a mix of black and red fruits, pepper spice, violets, and a lovely freshness. A beautiful wine to pair with herb- roasted pork or lamb.
