While many eschew the commercialism of Valentine’s Day, its actually does have some historical credibility. And while there are different viewpoints as to exactly which St. Valentine the holiday was named for, its pretty clear that they were two that were executed on or around February 14th. Regardless, its big deal now. Chocolates, flowers, dinner….and romance. And really, nothing says romance quite like a beautifully pink sparkling wine!
To be sure, this wine is superb and can (and should) be consumed for any holiday and any time in-between. Its delightfully dry fresh berry flavors meld well with the gentle bubbles and its finishes gently yet crisply, enticing you for another sip. It also pairs well with a variety of foods (alas, not chocolate, which would pretty much bury it). Bright, fresh, focused, balanced and beautiful (gosh, sounds like my wife!), its a wine to have in the cupboard always but especially today!
