2023 Gran Vinum Mar de Viñas

100% Albarino
Gran Vinum produces several outstanding Albarinos with the Mar de Vinas being intended for consumption in its youth. All the fruit for this bottling is hand harvested from 25 year-old vineyards which are planted in granitic sand. The wine is fermented and aged briefly in stainless steel in order to capture and retain the vibrancy of the varietal.

Produced from vines planted predominantly in the 1960’s and 1970’s within the famous cru of Chateau Thebaud. This south-facing site features sandy clay soil atop decomposed granite. Fermented in stainless steel tanks with natural yeasts, the wine is aged on its lees in underground, glass-lined cement tanks for 42 months.

Jean-Philipe Fichet is known for his meticulous work both in the vineyard and cellar which yield energetic, focused wines. His entry level Bourgogne comes from Meursault vines planted in soils with a high clay content and sees minimal new oak.

Located in the Alpine foothills, over an hour north of Barolo and Barbaresco, Gattinara is known for age-worthy reds based on Nebbiolo. This rose sees just three hours of skin contact followed by a 21 day fermentation and three months of aging on the lees.
