2019 Faust Cabernet Sauvignon
Coombsville, Napa Valley
Regular price: $80 per bottle
On Sale for $50 per bottle
Among the most respected producers of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Agustin Huneeus has played a key role in defining some of the most important subzones of Napa. While the family’s most established property, Quintessa, is found in the renowned Rutherford district, it’s the cooler climate of the up-and-coming Coombsville appellation that informs their Faust bottling. Here we find a fine-tuned example of the varietal, leading with aromas of blueberry and warm stone. While the nose suggests a deep, brooding wine, the palate begs to differ, leaning towards bright red fruits and iron. Full? Yes. Heavy? No. The 2019 Faust is too carefully constructed to be defined by its weight, engaging via dimension rather than scale. This Cabernet leaves a lasting impression of energy, effortlessly showcasing heft and nuance at the same time.
If you are a fan of the Napa Valley Cab category, buy this wine. It’s drinkable now and over the next five years. We have 60 bottles in stock of this balanced, elegant, and lush example of Napa appellation designated reds. Please let me know of your interest.
Thanks,
Ian.
