2017 Petit-Freylon ‘Cuvée Sarah’
Bordeaux Supérieur
On Sale for $14.99
The 2017 Petit Freylon is just the kind of Bordeaux I appreciate – fruity, charming and offering a certain tasteful polish. The wine’s expressive fruit is particularly bright on the nose, emphasizing currants and blackberry. The palate is pleasingly full with cherry and cedar embellished by wood in scale. The Petit Freylon Cuvee Sarah is a great choice for drinking today and over the next 2-3 years.
Chateau Petit Freylon produces this cuvee from 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot. The vines employed for this bottling are located in the southeast corner of the Bordeaux region near the village of Saint-Genis-du-Bois.
At $14.99 this excellent value offers a lot of character and makes for an ideal companion to the grilled fare this summer or the hearty dishes to come this winter.
